This session emphasizes solutions, capacity building, and actionable change in a healthcare environment that strives for improved patient experiences. Through funding from the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and innovative collaborations with our healthcare employers, we built a pathway that prepares marginalized teenagers and young adults ages 16–20 for meaningful careers in healthcare. Our aim was twofold: to shift the trajectory of young people’s lives and to transform the culture of our primary local hospital—ultimately strengthening the health outcomes and wellbeing of our broader community.
